Tales of Yore leaves Early Access in preperation for the Northlands Update

"Northlands" is the title of the next giant content patch planned to release later this year, joining the Dark Forest and Oasis updates from previous years.

In peperation for the next huge update to Tales of Yore, the game has come out of early access. Developer Coke and Code indicated that early access was to help players understand the constant development updates of the game. While updates continue at the same rate the game's stability is now worthy of a full release.

2023 has been a busy year already for one-man-dev Coke and Code, adding in several larger updates to the game such as mounts and pets, procedural job boards, treasure maps, WASD controls for PC/web, a UI overhaul, among other things. New players entering the game will be happy to find hundreds of hours of content awaiting them between quests calling back to old-school “pen-and-paper” days, so be prepared to read every detail of the text, secret dungeons and challenge dungeons, rare boss drops, life skills and collecting recipes, decorating player homes, or simply just experimenting with gear and skills to be as powerful as possible in this classless system.

"This game is massive," notes YouTuber Spid during his livestream playthrough of the game, "there's so much content to explore in this game [and] it's going to take me a long time to explore everything."

While newer players enjoy unwrapping the game like the puzzle it is, older players and returning players also have plenty to look forward to. Northlands is the announced name of the next giant content release that will be adding even more to do in Tales of Yore, and it’s expected to be finished sometime this year. In previous years, these content releases included new locations, dozens of new quests, gear, spells and skills, rare drops, bosses, and dungeons. Thankfully, these veteran players have still been enjoying plenty of smaller updates over the course of this year to hold them over until Northlands is finished.
